FNS
I did the Friday Night Skate again last night. It’s been a while. I was afraid it was going to be freezing, but it wasn’t so bad, maybe 3 or 4 degrees above zero.
The good thing about the winter FNS is that it goes quite fast. You need to keep going, you get cold otherwise! There were only about 22 of us, mostly pretty good skaters. There were some tourists with us in the beginning, but I think things went too fast for them. Come back in the summer, guys! The bad thing about the winter FNS is that it can be quite slippery. It was really wet the whole way. This morning I have to deal with my bearings, clean them up.
The only sissy thing I did was take my bike to the Vondelpark, instead of skate there. Hey, the foot wearing the ankle brace is getting battered enough you know? I could hardly walk when I took my skates off. I think maybe I’m wearing them wrong. I always get confused by all the straps.
