Cynicism is obedience

Cynicism is often seen as a rebellious attitude in western popular culture, but in reality, our cynicism advances the desires of the powerful: cynicism is obedience.

Why is cynicism obedience? This one kept returning in my mind. I finally came up with a take on it!

If you are a cynic you are not likely to work on Big goals, because, hey, as a cynic, why bother. You won’t be likely to think you can achive them.

But you need to work to make a living. So who do you work for? The people with the money. Who have the money? The people with the Big goals. Some of them are cynics, but not about achieving their goals.

So you end up working, achieving other peoples goals. Obediently, cynically serving.

The alternative? Optimism! And serving your self. :-)
